Membership in the Polish American Congress
There is room here for every Polish American and every Pole living in the United States who is willing to give some of their time and energy to a common effort.
Membership is open both to individuals and to Polish American organizations — parishes and clubs, professional associations, folk ensembles, veterans' groups, schools and businesses that want their voice counted in a federation of more than three thousand such bodies.
The more of us there are, the more our requests weigh.
That sentence has been the Division's argument for years, and it remains true.
Your voice. Our common effort.
What membership gives you
A vote inside the federation.
Members elect the officers of the Division, and the Division carries their voice to the Council of National Directors of the Polish American Congress.
A seat at Division meetings.
Our annual meeting decides what the Division takes on locally; members are notified of these and of other gatherings.
Support for the causes that matter.
Advocacy for Polonia in Washington and in City Hall, the defense of Polish history and good name, commemorations and heritage events, and aid in a crisis, as in the Polonia for Ukraine appeal of 2022.
A common effort.
Led by volunteers.
One point of honesty about the money: every officer of the National office and of the Divisions is an unpaid volunteer, the President of this Division included. Dues collected from members go to the National office of the Polish American Congress in Chicago, which is also staffed by volunteers, and they pay for the work done for Polonia and Poland.
